Location, Location, Location
Heppner is the County Seat of Morrow County. It is a beautiful, small, family town in rural northeast Oregon that lies 20 minutes from the Blue Mountains, one hour from the Columbia River, 45 miles from Hermiston, 80 miles south of Washington’s Tri-Cities, and 190 miles from Portland.
Family First
Morrow County school districts serve kindergarten through secondary students in all communities. They provide small student to teacher ratios, a wide variety of extracurricular activities and sports, and valuable community partnerships that center your child in their community’s social, recreational, and cultural life. This rural community education model helps your child develop the skills and self-reliance they need to be successful and responsible citizens. Additionally, Blue Mountain Community College provides post-secondary opportunities locally with a campus in Pendleton, OR.
Outdoor Oasis
The community enjoys a 9-hole golf course, waterpark with indoor therapy pool, outside exercise gym with pickleball court, tennis court and two city parks. The surrounding area has abundant outdoor recreation opportunities for the whole family, including camping, fishing, boating, bird and big game hunting, biking, hiking, cross country skiing, snowmobiling and off road vehicle riding with a large mountain ATV park nearby.
Festival Spirit
Morrow County residents love to celebrate together. Enjoy annual events throughout the county, including the Morrow County Fair and Rodeo, Watermelon Festival, St. Patrick’s Day weekend, and holiday markets. Enjoy fresh produce and support local artists while attending farmers’ markets and the First Friday arts and music showcase every summer.
