What is the purpose of an Ambulance Service Area Plan and why is it important to me?

An Ambulance Service Area Plan ensures that residents of an ambulance service area have access to an efficient, carefully coordinated medical emergency response system.  The State of Oregon has determined that sending multiple providers to a single call presents risks to the public and patients that do not outweigh the benefit of that action.  The ASA Plan helps all first responders to coordinate their efforts to better serve our communities.
