Pioneer Memorial Hospital
Pioneer Memorial Hospital is a 12-bed acute care facility with a
cardiac care unit and swing bed unit. The hospital's emergency room maintains
an Oregon Trauma Level IV designation.

The hospital opened in 1950 and was recently renovated, adding a CAT Scan to
the radiology department and modernizing the emergency room. Pioneer Memorial
Hospital has an active medical staff of three physicians and one physician's assistant.
All registered nurses working in the emergency department are certified in
trauma care as well as advanced cardiac life support. Ancillary services include home health,
hospice, physical therapy, radiology and laboratorwy.
In addition to acute and emergency care services, the hospital provides skilled nursing
care under a one-unit Swing Bed Program that is certified by Medicare and Medicaid.
This program allows a patient to receive medically necessary services as an in-patient
over an extended period of time.
In October 2005 the hospital acquired a new X-Ray unit and a digitizer that can convert
X-Rays and CAT Scans to a digital format. This allows the image to be electronically
transmitted to a radiologist in a remote location for review, providing a faster
turnaround time for results.
